Richard Cole Thompson, 28, passed away on March 5, 2024. He was born in Putnam County on June 8, 1995, to Richard Thompson and Maureen (Angus) Wheeler. Cole attended Cloverdale schools and graduated in 2014. Most recently, Cole was employed with SignDoc Identity LLC.
Cole enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing. He loved listening to music and had a talent for singing and playing the guitar and drums. Cole spent most of his time hanging out with his buddies. Anyone who knew Cole loved him and his big heart.
Cole is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dick and Karon Thompson.
Survivors include his parents, Richard (Tammy) Thompson and Maureen (Darrell) Wheeler; sister, Courtney Michalik; brother, Briar (Bella) Wheeler; maternal grandparents, Ron and Nancy Angus; nephews, Ayden, Ashton, Bryce; niece, Gracen; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Cole’s life on Wednesday, March 13th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 14th at 11:00 am at St Thomas More Church in Mooresville. Burial will follow the mass in White Lick Cemetery.
