Richard Trapp, 63, of Forsyth County passed away Friday October 10, 2025 at Northside Hospital Forsyth surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 12, 1961, Richard was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. He was a 1979 graduate of Forsyth County High School and spent his entire career as a fire protection specialist working with sprinkler systems. Richard was an avid hunter and deep-sea fisherman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawsonville, a friend to all and never met a stranger. A wonderful dad, son, companion and uncle, he will be dearly missed. Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Tiffany Trapp Wheeling and sister, Kathy Trapp.
Surviving are his son, Brian Trapp of Atlanta; grandchildren, Bryson Wheeling, Zackary Seignious; parents, Tommy and Florence Trapp of Dawsonville; Companion, Becky Bump of Gainesville; niece and nephew, Kelly Roberts of Alpharetta, Charles Roberts of Florida; and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Dr. Dustin Gillespie will officiate. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
