Richard Alan Wiening, 70, of Knoxville, Illinois, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville. Born on August 6, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Robert Melvin and Dorothy May (Campbell) Wiening, both of whom have preceded him in death.
Richard is survived by his brothers, Robert Wayne (Lisa) Wiening and Joseph Ronald Wiening, both of Downers Grove, Illinois; as well as his sister, Rhonda Wiening of Port Byron, Illinois.
Richard dedicated about 26 years of his career as a maintenance landscaper at Oak Brook Mall in Oak Brook, Illinois. He was also a SEIU Local No. 1 Union member. Richard enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Cremation will be accorded. There are no services planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory in Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
