Richard Wirt Obituary
Richard Nelson Wirt, 87, of Rainbow Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at his home.
Born on October 30, 1937 in Crane Creek, he was a son of the late Renes and Hazel Beavers Wirt. He had been a resident of Bluefield for most of his life and was a member of the College Avenue Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and was retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad and was active with the Retiree's Group.
Survivors include his 3 daughters, Beverly Dianne Harvey of Princeton, WV, Debra Gaye Bowen of Bluefield, VA and Donna Carol Bowling of Rocky Gap, VA; one son, Mont Booth of Salem, VA; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday March 3, 2025 at 1:00PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with Pastor Chad Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with Mont Booth, Kenny Bowen, Derek Bowen, Nicholas Bowen, Bo Wagner, and Dennis Booth will serve as pallbearers. Alexander Bowen will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Friends may call on Monday prior to services, from 12:00-1:00 PM at the funeral home.
