Ricky Anthony Guidry, 69, went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2025 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
He was the epitome of a great father, husband, and grandfather. He led by example and helped others to see what an honorable man, steadfast husband, and devoted father can be. He loved sharing the word of God to anyone at anytime and his devotion to God was the leading drive of his life.
Ricky was a humble and kind-hearted man with a deep love for the outdoors. He especially cherished elk hunting trips to Colorado with his lifelong friends, Lee Lamury, Mark Gowan and Jerry Gauthier. Rick, Jerry and Lee made up the trio fondly known as the Three Amigos. Ricky was the last of the Three Amigos to be called home to the Lord.
He was the founder of Rick’s Auto Salvage and loved helping the community. His generosity and kindness continue to inspire gratitude from the people touched by his life. He will never be forgotten and we will never know the depth of his love, influence and sacrifice that came from helping others and pointing people to heaven.
He is survived by his adoring wife, Joan Campbell Guidry, children Joy Gachassin and husband Joey, Richard Guidry and wife Heidi, Kelli Klenert, Kathryn Klenert and husband Daniel, Kristen Klenert, and Tawnya Carr and fiancé Matthew Rice. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren Rebekah Alphonso, Jacob Klenert, Christopher Barnett, Brodi Bourque, Tyler Exnicious, Ryan Picou, Campbell Klenert, Maddison Exnicious, and Jude Guidry. He is also survived by his siblings James Guidry and wife Annette, Patricia Boyles, Gary Guidry and wife Phyllis, Jennifer Mayon and husband Kirk. Ricky adored his nieces and nephews Danny Guidry and wife Samantha, Mindy Joiner and husband Adam, Beth Mayon and fiancé James Cumberland. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Annalois and James Daniel “JD” Guidry, brother-in- law Greg Boyles, and niece Gloria Marks.
Ricky’s celebration of life will be Friday, June 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Word of Life Family Church, 108 Ryan Street in Patterson.
