McGaffigan Family Funeral HomeRicky “Rick” M. Law, of Pepperell, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by family on October 3, 2025 at the age of 67 after a four-year battle with cancer. Born in Medford, MA on December 19, 1957, Rick was the son of the late William E. and Dorothy T. (Fagan) Law.
Rick spent his early life in Chelmsford and graduated from Chelmsford High School with the class of 1976. He married his high school sweetheart, Denise (King) Law on January 19th , 1980, and shortly after, the pair moved to Pepperell where they built their home and began a family.
Rick’s family was everything to him. Nothing was more important than his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the bedrock on which he built his life. He was most happy when spending time with those he loved the most. Some of his fondest memories were spent taking trips on his Harley with Denise, big family trips to North Conway, family bonfires, and playing on the floor with the grandkids. Rick and Denise rode their Harley all throughout New England, and they especially enjoyed trips to the Swift River along the Kancamagus Highway and annually to Bike Week in Laconia. Rick also enjoyed hunting, skiing, hiking, and camping.
A natural-born people person, Rick worked in the landscaping construction field as project manager, most recently for Emanouil, Inc. He was an outgoing and social man, with a magnetic charm. Everywhere he went, he made friendships and lasting connections with perfect strangers.
Rick’s close family includes his loving wife and soulmate for over 50 years, Denise (King) Law of Pepperell. He was a proud “Girl Dad” to Emily Socha and husband William of Auburn, NH; Rebecca Mayo and husband Garrett of Amherst, NH; Jessica Law of Amherst, NH; and Heidi Giacobbe and husband Paul of Brookline, NH. He dearly loved his 10 grandchildren: Andrew, Evan, Ryan, and Hailey Socha; Hannah, Charlotte and Grace Mayo; and Jameson, Noah, and Caleb Giacobbe. He was also close with his late brother, Mark Law, his sister Robin Lemiuex and husband Denis of Lowell. Rick and Denise’s beloved Golden Retrievers, Jackson and Brodie continue to provide love and comfort during this difficult time.
Rick will be honored and remembered at a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, October 15th at The Barn at Gibbet Hill from 4-8 pm. A service will be held at 4:00, followed by dinner and refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Rick’s memory to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org).
Please consider a donation as requested by the family.
