Ricky Dewitt Price passed unexpectedly but peacefully on May 5,2025, leaving behind a legacy of fun times, laughter, and craftsmanship.
Ricky loved the outdoors, animals, watching the news, and cheering on UT football with a cold beer in hand. Known for his deep love of family, he especially cherished moments dancing to country music with his grandchildren and blowing out birthday candles alongside them, sneaking them extra large bites of cake- always sharing the joy. A gifted visionary, Ricky had the rare ability to build anything he dreamed of - from a simple porch swing to an entire home renovation. His skill and speed with a paintbrush were unmatched, earning him the admiration of all who saw his work.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Betty Price, his infant sister Janey, brother David Price, and stepson Jake Newman.
He is survived by the love of his life, Tammy Price; daughters Haley and son-in-"love" Jonathan Boyd, Carly Smith and family, and Courtney Proaps and family; his pride and joy, his grandchildren Madalyn, Florence, and Owen Boyd; sister Jessie Stockton (Frank); brother Carl "Buddy" Price (Debbie); sister Millie Smallen (Joe); and many nieces and nephews. A special nephew, Matthew Price (Amy), was like a son to him. His beloved dogs Nina and Nuka.
His spirit, spark of life, and skill will live on in all who knew him. He built a life of meaning and love brick by brick. He died a hero, saving three lives through organ donation. He will be deeply missed, and the memories of him will forever be cherished.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 9th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dean Bandy officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day."
In lieu of flowers please carry on Rick's love of giving to others by buying a strangers meal, filling up their gas tank, or getting them a cup of coffee.
