Ricky Trudeau

Ricky " Papa" Dean Trudeau, 73 passed peacefully in his home on April 7th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Ricky was born on March 13, 1951 in Yakima, Washington to Robert Ronald Trudeau and Ramona Mae Wright.
He spent most of his childhood in Port Angeles, Washington, where at the age of 13 he won The Paul Tinkham Memorial Trophy in the local town diving competition. Rick graduated from Port Angeles High School in 1969. Through his high school years, he played 1st trumpet in the marching band and was always a leader on his wrestling team. He spent his free time working in various departments at the local Albertson's grocery store. In 1972, he earned his degree in Economics in Business from Cornell University. This would then lead him to starting up his very first painting company "Rainbow Painting" in Sequim, Washington.
In December of 1993, Rick met the love of his life Rosemary, through her daughter Shauna. They were married on April 23rd, 1994. In 1999 Rick and Rose opened up a house painting company, they named it " Shades of Rose Painting, Inc." Rick loved painting and was made to be "The BOSS!" He always liked to stay busy! Through the years they made so many memories together driving their RV across the country, nascar races & casinos with a group of great friends. Enjoying countless Hillsboro Hops baseball games in the summer and Portland Winterhawks games in the Winter & spending quality time with their family.
He loved spending time at their vacation home in Mesa, AZ where he made a ton of lifelong friends over the last 8 years. He was known for having "Happy Hours" and bringing people together at Val Vista Village. VVV will always be his other home!! Some of his best times down there would be going out into the desert on his quad with his best friend Ken McMillan, or playing billiards with his Val Vista Billiards team. Who won the championship the last 3 years. Rick was a very good billiards player. He was an avid bowler, with his highest game reaching a 300! He bowled in several leagues over the years with dear friends, and competed in the state tournament every year, which they usually always placed. His favorite sports teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers, NY Yankees & the LA Lakers. He loved card games, and beating his son in law Kory and grandson Kaden at a game of cribbage. One of his favorite hobbies was classic cars. He had bought several over the years and traveled all over to car shows to put them on display. Rick won several trophies with his 1969 Z-28 Chevy Camaro. Spoiling his grandsons Kaden, Chase, Jackson & Porter was always at the top of his list! He would do anything to make sure they were taken care of and to put a smile on their face. Even if that meant making up new words to Joe Cocker's song " You are so beautiful". In his own words he would sing " I am so beautiful, to me can't you see, I'm everything you hope for, I'm everything you need." Then end it with, "I am still working on the rest of the lyrics. Rick was full of laughter, fun and could light up a room, and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary of 30 years, Mother in law Barbara Kemper, daughter Shauna (Kory) Rosacrans, son James Runion, grandsons, Kaden Rosacrans & his fiancé Bethany Bradley, Chase Fowler, Jackson Runion & Porter Runion, Sister Raeann (Carl) Pontrella, Brother Robert (Marcia) Trudeau & Aunt Priscilla Schloss, along with his brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews, many friends and kitties Luca & Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Ronald Trudeau, his mother Ramona (Wright) Trudeau, Aunt Carol Miller & Stepfather Jad.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
