Rina Mannella Obituary

Rina Mannella, age 89, passed away August 2, 2024, surrounded by her three children and beloved daughter-in-law Stacey. She was born July 23, 1935, to Nello and Gina Marraccini in Monongahela, PA.
With only a high school education, Rina found herself in the unexpected position of raising three young children alone. She rose to the challenge by working in an egg-packing facility to pay for her data processing degree in the newly developing area of computer processing at a time when computers were the size of a large family room and weighed tons. Rina's new skill netted her a position in the Data Entry Department at Fox Grocery (a food distribution center) where she worked for more than 40 years, ending her career (in management) with the company's newest owners, SuperValu, Inc.
Upon retirement, she found great joy in volunteering as a "Grandmother in the Classroom" at Ringgold Elementary Center. There, the kindergarten children adored her gentle nature and thrived on the loving attention "Miss Rina" showed them.
Rina was welcomed into Heaven by her mother and father; brothers: Roger, Egisto and Raymond Marraccini; her son-in-law Dean Blangger, and her best friend Anna Mae France. She is survived by her brother Eugene Marraccini.
Rina loved playing cards with her friends, going to the movies and having dinner out, but she derived the most pleasure from family, beginning with her children: Paula Blangger, Wendy Borrelli (John), and Michael Mannella (Stacey); her grandchildren: Brandon Blangger (Lori), Andrew Blangger (Elena), Kristopher Borrelli, Maria Borrelli (Luke See), Michael Mannella, Jr, and Joseph Mannella (Rachel LaFlame), along with her four great grandchildren: Ella, Drake, Maks and Beau.
In lieu of a public showing, the family will celebrate Rina's life privately.
