Rita Kay Wilson Cooper
September 12, 1946 - October 4, 2025
Rita Kay, 79, was peacefully called home on October 4. She resided in Lincolnton with her son and his wife but was originally from Rutherfordton, NC. Rita Kay was a beloved wife, mother of 5, grandmother of 14, and great-grandmother of 36. She loved people and never met a stranger. Rita Kay always made you laugh. She loved to cook and sing and often did both at the same time.
She was a profile in strength and perseverance. Rita Kay was the strongest person we know and inspired us all to overcome the odds. She was loved deeply and will be missed. But her strength will carry on in us all.
Rita Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Bill Cooper; and daughter, Tina Ogelsby.
Rita Kay is survived by her daughter, Linda Chevalier and her husband Mike; her son, Randall Wilson and his wife April; her daughter, Vickie Wilson and her daughter Amy Thompson and her husband Mark.
In memory of our dear mother, these tears we shed today are because we miss you so, especially on this special day, and we just wanted you to know.....You are always in our hearts and will be till the end when we see you once again! We love you!
A graveside service officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette, will be held 1:00pm, Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Hillcrest Gardens - 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Hwy., Mount Holly, NC 28120.
