Rita Faye Staten, age 67, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 at her residence.

Rita was born March 20, 1958, in Bowling Green, KY to the late Bobby Ray Ford and the late Virginia Gray Spivey.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas (Megan) Skaggs; five grandchildren, Corey, Camden, Xander, Blaine and Beau Collins; six siblings, Billy Ray (Joyce) Ford, Nancy Lawrence, Richard Avery Ford, Sandra Kaye (Rob) Waddle, Jennifer (Donald) Walden, Pricsilla (Bill) Surike. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Lord saved Rita as a young girl at Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a waitress for Ryan's for over twenty years before retiring. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending the most time with them. Rita loved to cook, admired Elvis and adored her dog, Dolly

The family has entrusted J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with arrangements.

Funeral services for Rita Staten are scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00am with burial to follow in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, at 5:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Thursday at 9:00am until time of service at 11:00am.

She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.
