Mrs. Rita L. Wilson, 81, of Bimble, passed away Monday morning, March 24, 2025 at the home of her son. She was born January 4, 1944 in Pineville, the daughter of the late Jimmy and Marie Mooneyham Jackson.
Rita was a former employee of Powell Valley Foods and a member of Scalf Chapel Church for over 40 years. She was the family caretaker, enjoyed spending time with her family and loved animals, especially her many dogs. She also loved the clan house get-togethers and would order shirts and make chili for their reunions.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James D. Jackson and a sister-in-law, Kathy Jackson.
Survivors include her loving son, Jimmy Kelly Tomblin and wife, Karen, of Bimble; a sister, Sheila Lee and husband, Charles, of Bimble; a brother, Larry Jackson of Hamilton, OH; cherished grandchildren, Lyndsi Kauffman and husband, Wesley, of Knoxville, TN, Megan Barton and husband, Rex, of Corbin, Tyler Tomblin and Jackson Tomblin both of Bimble, Dave Payne of Florence and Lucas Martin of Franklin, TN; great grandchildren, Braiden, Mayla and Lainey Tomblin, Bentley and Blakely Barton; sister-in-law, Rosalind Jackson; bonus family, Clay, Andrea, Hudson and Griffin Butler; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, March 29 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Keith "Buster" Liford, Rev. Charles Lee and Terry Lee officiating.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday after 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions go to the American Cancer Society or to Sudie's Vision, 118 Paynes Creek RD, Hinkle KY, 40953 in her memory. Rita was a strong supporter of these organizations.
