Robert Norman Bachtell III, 70, of Smithsburg, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.
Born on July 30,1954 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Robert Norman Bachtell and Betty Jane (Edwards) Bachtell.
For 25 years, Robert dedicated his professional life to being an Aerospace Graphic Designer where his artistic talents flourished. Beyond his professional career, he was a passionate musician, known for his love of music and his active participation in various bands, and a dedicated collector of musical instruments. He also found joy in the great outdoors and cherished every camping trip.
He is survived by his loving brothers, Richard N. Bachtell and wife Nancy, Ronald E. Bachtell, and Randy T. Bachtell, all of Hagerstown, nephews; Christopher E. Bachtell, and wife Kristi, Chase E. Bachtell, and Bennette J. Bachtell, nieces; Amanda Elizabeth Bachtell, and Emmalie K. Bachtel, and numerous cousins.
Memorial service will be private and at the convenience of the family.
