Robert G. Baine 102 years old of Wesley Chapel, Florida passed away of natural causes on March 30, 2025 peacefully and surrounded by loved ones.
Born November 21, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio he was the son of the late Earl and Harriet Baine, and he preceded in death his sister Irene Heck.
He married Patricia Luckner from Corning, New York on April 10, 1948 and together they had six children and built a life with love and their strong Catholic faith. They were married 67 years until her passing on April 22, 2015.
Robert was a 20 year Army veteran and proudly served during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. His military service started February 1, 1943 at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro, California and he retired from the Army at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC on May 31, 1965. He toured in Luzon Island in the Philippines in 1944 - 1946, Yokohama Japan in 1953 - 1955, and two tours in Seoul Korea in 1952 - 1953 and 1962 - 1964.
Robert is survived by five of his children and their spouses, Jerry and Sharon Baine of Evans, Georgia, Barbara and Robert Williams of Tampa, Florida, Beverly and James Keel of Arnold, Maryland, Ken and Laura Baine of Charles Town, West Virginia, Karen and Dr. Donald Straub of Wesley Chapel, Florida, and daughter-in-law Charlene Baine of Summerville, South Carolina.
Robert is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, 5 nieces & 1 nephew.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Baine, his son Roger Baine, his granddaughters Christine Williams & Colette Baine, and daughter-in-law Marie Baine.
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on a later date with military honors in section 57 grave 3108.
