Robert Ballew Obituary
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at West Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery (New Section). A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 1p.m. to 6p.m.
Robert Dwayne "Blue" Ballew was born October 30, 1953, to parents Leroy and Mary (Lynch) Ballew in Marlin Texas. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1972. He was a member of a BPOE Elks Lodge No. 1558 and Senior Citizen Center. He maintained an active array of hobbies, most of which tied to his love of the great outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Robert enjoyed dog sitting for the family. His favorite pastimes included hiking, metal detecting, bowling and he was known to be an avid pool player. He was a good Christian man who regularly read his bible. Those closest to Robert knew him as a kind and generous man, devoted to his family, and loving to a fault.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cecilia Ballew.
Robert Ballew's memory lives on in remembrance by his sons, Preston Ballew and wife Marisha of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Aaron Ballew and wife Veronica of Carlsbad, New Mexico, sister Elaine Ballew of Tempe, Arizona, brothers Rick Ballew and wife Joyce of Franklin, North Carolina, Jimmy and wife Amy Kries of Scottsdale, Arizona, grandchildren Bryson Ballew and fiancé Hailee Harris, Caleb Ballew, Madison Ballew, Ashley Waldram, Jason Waldram and wife Taylor Nesbit and Jayden Sisneros, great-grandchildren Mia Salazar, Colton and Cooper Schafer, along with many nieces and nephews, as well as his good friends Kenny Porter and Buzz Sexton Many more celebrate the life led by Robert and he will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Josh McCurdy, Bryson Ballew, Caleb Ballew, Jason Waldram and Jayden Sisneros.
