Robert E. "Bob" Blank

Robert Blank of Painted Post, NY passed away August 16, 2025 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Born in Erwin, NY on December 5, 1929, he was the son of Charles E. Sr. and Alma (Eddy) Blank. Bob graduated Painted Post High School. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army with basic training at Camp Kilmer, N.J. and was later deployed to Italy.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying in his younger years hunting, fishing and trapping. He also enjoyed constructing decorative model ships and planting flowers in his garden.
Bob was employed by American LaFrance Manufacturing Co. in Elmira, NY, Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post, and then Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY until his retirement. He was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie (Blank) Schoonover and brother, Charles E. Blank, Jr.
Bob is survived by two sisters: Patricia (Blank) Puteri and Doris (Blank) Kelley, both of New Jersey; brother, Dale Blank of Corning, NY; along with many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery, Parkview Dr., Painted Post, NY. Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements.
