Robert “Bob” F. Dieffenbach, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Spang Crest in Lebanon, PA. He was born on Sunday, May 29, 1927 to the late George Dieffenbach and Daisy Rittle Dieffenbach in Shirksville, PA. After graduating high school, Bob enlisted in the Navy and served our country until his honorable discharge in 1951. Once Bob was relieved of his military duties, he worked at Bethlehem Steel as a Sample Tester until his retirement and then ended his working career with Hershey Foods. When he wasn’t working hard Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren, spending time outdoors and traveling with his beloved wife, Mary. Bob and Mary were married for 72 years and during that time they raised two amazing children and experienced the beauty of the world in their travels. Bob was a life long member of Zoar Lutheran Church at Mt. Zion. He was also known for his story telling and amazing sense of humor. Bob is survived by his Children Dale Dieffenbach and wife Jodie, Ann Atkins and husband Dennis; Grandchildren Carter Atkins and wife Anita, Natalie Consylman, Jonathan Atkins and wife Naomi; Great-Grandchildren Katlyn Keller and husband Cody, Addison Atkins, Avery Atkins, Elise Atkins, Ty Consylman, Everett Atkins, Carly Atkins, Weston Atkins, Camille Atkins, and Evangeline Atkins; Great-Great Grandchildren; Graham Keller and Laine Keller. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Daisy Dieffenbach; as well as his beloved wife Mary E. Dieffenbach. A public Viewing will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Zoar Lutheran Church, followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s memory to the Zoar Lutheran Church.
