Thomas Dieffenbach, 76, of Williamsport passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Tom was born in Williamsport on May 17, 1949, a son of the late John and Blanche (Reher) Dieffenbach. He was a graduate of South Williamsport High School, he had an associate degree in forestry from W.A.C.C. now Pennsylvania College of Technology and a bachelor's degree from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.
A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War era, Tom served from October of 1970 until December of 1973. He retired as senior purchasing manager after 30 years at Amtrak.
He had a passion for the outdoors, he was a talented artist, specializing in wildlife paintings, his passion for the outdoors included hunting, fishing and archery, he was also a talented marksman and won many archery competitions.
Tom and his wife, Anna Yiqing Dieffenbach were married May 2, 2003, surviving in addition to Anna would be Anna's son, William Dieffenbach Meng and his wife Wennie Wen; their son, Chase Meng; Tom's daughters, Justine and Linda Dieffenbach; son, Thomas Dieffenbach Jr. and siblings James Dieffenbach, Diane Fitzpatrick and John Dieffenbach.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Crouse Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 133 E.3rd St., Williamsport from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025. Burial with military honors will follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
