Robert Burton Obituary
Mr. Robert Clifford Burton, age 84, of 215 Park Dr., Jonesville, widower of Doris Elaine Fowler Burton, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Mr. Burton was born March 7, 1939, in Campobello, a son of the late Tracy Columbus Burton and Annie Pearl Sloan Burton. He was a graduate of Campobello High School and attended Clemson University. Mr. Burton retired from Torrington & Company and was a former member of the South Carolina National Guard. Mr. Burton was an active member of Gilead Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and as Treasurer.
Surviving are a daughter, Amy Eaves of Jonesville and a son, Robert Neil Burton and wife Tina Marie of the home, who was a great help to Neil with the care of Mr. Burton; grandchildren, Cliff Campbell and wife Ashley, Kayce Campbell and Karlee Campbell, and great grandchildren, Kobe Butler, Mason Butler, Dawson Cook, Margaret Lancaster, Cannon Patterson, Carter Campbell and Harrison Campbell. He was predeceased by a grandson, Dillon Luke Millwood and a granddaughter, Hillary Keagan Millwood.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Gilead Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon. Burial will follow at Jonesville Memorial Garden.
Active pallbearers will be Neil Burton, Chuck Fowler, Christopher Crocker, Jonathan Patton, Kobe Butler, and Mason Butler.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.
Memorials may be made to Gilead Baptist Church, P.O. Box 38, Jonesville, SC 29353.
The family is at their respective homes.
