Robert “Bryan” Cason, age 66, entered the church triumphant on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 surrounded by his family.

He was born November 3, 1958 in Huntsville, Alabama and is the son of Robert (Bob) and Ann Garrett Cason. Bryan graduated from Clemson University in 1981.

Bryan had many passions in life – tennis, hiking (including the Appalachian Trail), outdoor camping, and all things Clemson Tigers. He was a family man loving his role as son, brother, nephew, dad, “Papa”, uncle, and cousin. Bryan never met a stranger and was always looking for ways to help others embodying the Boy Scout law: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. He patterned his life after the scout oath of love for God and Country.

Bryan was involved in Boy Scouts for most of his life. In 1975 he earned his Eagle Scout Rank, being only the fifth Eagle Scout out of 97 eventually awarded by Troop 174. Bryan also earned the coveted God and Country Award and the Order of the Arrow. In 2011, he was presented with the Clinton Distinguished Citizen award. If you wanted to get a smile from Bryan, ask him about his many adventures as a scout – from Camp Old Indian to The Swamp Fox trail to Philmont Scout Ranch. Bryan supported scouting in a multitude of roles at Troop 174 and Pack 21. He gave back. He was a Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, Den leader, Troop Committee member, and adviser.

Bryan will be remembered for his gentle and kind spirit and will be missed by many but especially his family.

Bryan is survived by his parents; his sister, Barbara Bedenbaugh (Tim); brother Glenn Cason (Etta); niece, Jessica Radabaugh (Paul); nephew, Garrett Bedenbaugh (Tanya); great nieces and nephews Cason, Caroline and Charlotte Radabaugh and Camden Bedenbaugh, children Kim, Brandi (Andy) and Ricky, grandchildren and a great grandchild and aunts Roslyn Martin and Jeanette Hicklin.

A celebration of Bryan’s life will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Justin Ritter and Rev. Dr. Mike Alexander officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in Hodges Hall.
