With deep sorrow and much love, we announce thepassing of Robert "Bob" Clopper, who died peacefullyat home in Chico at age 77, surrounded by family.Born in Ventura, California to Mary and Henry "Clip"Clopper, Bob was the oldest of 4 children. He waspreceded in death by his sister, Lynn Losch, and issurvived by his 2 brothers, Richard "Dick" and PaulClopper. He was a devoted husband to MarlaClopper for over 42 years and a proud father to his 5children, Michelle, Jeff, Katelyn, Kelly, and Kimberly.Bob spent nearly 40 years building a career in themedical field, beginning as a clinical laboratorytechnologist, then to managing lab operations, andeventually transitioning into lab sales and marketingfor services across a large region. He earned a BAfrom UC Santa Barbara and a Masters from CSUDominguez Hills, where he graduated with honors.Bob brought intelligence, integrity, and a strongwork ethic to every role. But come the weekend,he'd swap his lab coat for camouflage and head outhunting or fishing with his buddies.Bob had a lifelong appreciation for sports (rooting forthe Dodgers and the Kings), country music (withAlan Jackson and Hank Williams Jr. pretty much onrepeat), and movies - especially rewatching his favor?ites. He was also a passionate reader (who nevermissed a John Grisham novel) and gifted writer whofound great joy in the world of books and words. For Bob, stories were a way to understand life andconnect with others. Inspired by authors like ErnestHemingway and Edgar Allan Poe, he even had someof his own poems published.Additionally, Bob was a world-class storyteller ofhis own - just ask anyone who heard the same onefor the 100th time. His tales were always animated, often exaggerated, and occasionally suspicious intheir historical accuracy. But that was part of themagic. Whether recounting a childhood adventureor questionable run-in with a celebrity, he deliveredeach time with such gusto and theatrical flair thatyou couldn't help but find the repetition charming.Bob's humor was legendary as well - complete withan endless supply of corny dad jokes andpunchlines told with perfect timing and just theright amount of mischief. They were inappropriate, endearing, and hilarious - somehow all at once. Timewith Bob meant guaranteed entertainment, a feweye-rolls, and at least one story you couldn't repeat inpolite company.Bob had a deep love for the ocean, rooted in hisearly years growing up near the coast. Fort Braggheld a special place in his heart as a cherished familyvacation spot filled with beach walks, climbing onrocks, and collecting sand dollars. With an outgoingand friendly personality, Bob had a knack for turningstrangers into companions anywhere he went.Above all, Bob was a family man - steadfast, generous, and loving. He instilled strong values and offeredunwavering support, wisdom, and encouragementto those around him. He was a man who believed inkindness, morality, good manners, and correctgrammar.A Celebration of Life will be held on 07.06.2025 at2:00 PM at Tres Hombres Blue Agave Room: 215West 1st Street, Chico, CA 95928. We will forevermiss his voice, his laughter, and his well-worn stories. Please bring your favorite Bob-isms to share in hismemory."Every man's life ends the same way. It is only thedetails of how he lived and how he died that distin- guish one man from another."-Ernest HemingwayArrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home
