Curtis Lee Clopper, 56, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, December 22, 2025 at his home, surrounded by loving family.

Born on March 9, 1969 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of Shirley Mae (Martin) and Ernest Lee Clopper.

He was preceded in death by a Sister in Law, Tricia (Bowman) Clopper.

Curt graduated from Smithsburg High School, class of 1987.

Curt worked for Grove Manufacturing in Shady Grove, PA, and was a self-employed landscaper.

Curt was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved garden tractor pulls and enjoyed watching sports.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his Brothers, Greg Clopper and wife, Shannon, and Darrell Clopper and wife, Danyelle; Nieces, Lindsay Miller (Ryan) and Lacey Clopper (Darren Shank); 2 special little Nephews, Brixton and Jackson Clopper; Step-Nephew, Cody Doyle; and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

A funeral service will be held Saturday January 3, 2026 at 2 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Pastor Randy Reid officiating. Interment will follow in Smithsburg Cemetery, Smithsburg, MD.

Family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service. The family requests that guests dress in casual attire as Curt would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to American Kidney Fund of Rockville at kidneyfund.org or the Smithsburg EMS, 8 Maple Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783.

Arrangements are entrusted to J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD. Online condolences may be shared at www.jldavisfh.com.
