Robert Edward “Bob” Dodd 83 of Weymouth Ma passed away from a sudden illness on August 1, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Boston, Ma on December 16, 1941, to Bernard and Mary Dodd. Bob was raised and educated in Dorchester, Ma.
Robert proudly served our country in the US Army from 1960-1963 most of that time spent in Ethiopia. He worked and retired from the United States Postal Service in 2015 after 20 years. He loved his Irish heritage, music, going on cruises, scratch tickets and spending time with family and his many grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Judith (Parker), their children Matthew and his wife Barbara of Whitman, Lisa (Daley)of Quincy, Gene and his wife Kimberly of Weymouth, Kathleen (Kingham) and her husband Bill of Rockland, David and his wife Katelyn of New Bedford and grandchildren Kaleigh, Mckenzie, Liam, Gavin, Bobby, Joseph, Kaitlyn, Alex, Conor.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Robert’s life on Friday August 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, Weymouth, Ma. Burial with Military Honors will take place at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Ma. Donations may be made in Bobs name to The Fisher House Foundation 12300 Twinbrook Pkwy Rockville, Md.
