Robert James "Bob" Doerflinger

Robert James "Bob" Doerflinger, age 75, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 while under the care of Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born April 24, 1946 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Eugene "Gene" Doerflinger and Bettie Jean Hittner Doerflinger.
Bob was a graduate of Carnegie High School and attended Clarion University on a wrestling scholarship. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served honorably during the Vietnam War. Bob managed two Montgomery Ward stores in Virginia and in Butler. He was the owner and operator of Pizza Plus in Butler for over 30 years. Bob was a baseball coach for the Prospect Boys and Girls Baseball Club. He and his wife, Linda enjoyed going to garage sales, dancing, eating out, and their many trips to the casino. Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years, Linda Marie Celli Doerflinger who he married on July 21, 1967; his children, Anthony (Robin) Nicelli, also known as Robert Doerflinger, Jr. of Butler, Kimberly Doerflinger of Butler, and Michael Paul (Annette) Doerflinger of Slippery Rock; his 15 grandchildren; his three great grandchildren; his sister, Valgene (Dave) Katruska of Carnegie; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Natalie Nicelli.
Friends will be received from 6 P.M. until the Celebration of Life service at 9 P.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Twp., 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053 with Pastor Reid Moon, officiating.
