Robert Dolwick Obituary
Robert W. Dolwick, age 82, of McKean, PA, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, after an extended illness. He was born in Boone County, KY on October 10, 1943, the son of the late Robert and Madge Reeves Dolwick.
Robert was the artistic director of the Erie Junior Philharmonic. He earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Kentucky and a Masters Degree in trumpet performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Robert was a teacher of trumpet and all brass instruments.
As a professional trumpet player, he played trumpet in the Erie Philharmonic for 50 years and 25 years with the Erie Chamber Orchestra. He was also the personnel manager of the Erie Phil.
He enjoyed gardening, travel, fishing, and rescuing cats and dogs.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Brenda (Davis) Dolwick, his children: Cynthia Hawkins, Christopher and Jim Dolwick, stepdaughter Leah Kljunich (Roland), two grandsons, one great- granddaughter, one sister Patricia Foxworthy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law Robert L. Foxworthy.
Services were privately held under the direction of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ANNA Shelter, East 1555 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511.

My sons loved playing in Jr Phil under Mr. Dolwick´s leadership. He expected a lot from all the young musicians, and they grew tremendously in their musicianship because of those expectations. I used to enjoy sitting in the auditorium and listening to his rehearsals. I appreciated the concerts so much more after hearing how he helped the orchestra understand the meaning and dynamics of each work. We have some very fine cd´s because of that. You were an inspiration Mr. Dolwick. May you rest in God´s eternal peace.
