Robert Harrison Ellis, Jr., age 88 of Dandridge, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Robert was proud of his community. He was passionate about farming; but retired as a manager with Lowe's Home Improvement. In addition, he worked for over twenty years as a school bus driver. He was a faithful member of Morristown Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a member of the Brazelton Lodge #190 F.& A.M.; and was honored to serve as Grand Marshall in the 2024 Piedmont Christmas Parade.
Born November 14, 1936 in the Swannsylvania area of Dandridge, he was the only son of Robert H. Ellis (Sr.) & Eunice Allen Ellis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Rose Ellis; and his sister, Phyllis Ellis Palmer. He is survived by his children, Connie Ellis Brahan (& son-in-law, Frank), Rob Ellis, III (& daughter-in-law, Robyn); grandchildren, Bryan Ellis Brahan, Luke Harrison Ellis, Abigail Elizabeth Ellis; great grandchildren, Lilly, Sadie, Cooper, & Amelia; and sister, Flora Ruth Smelcer; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
Pastor Jeremy Gilmer will officiate the funeral service at 6PM, Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. Family will receive friends from 4PM to 6PM prior to the service. A graveside service will take place at 11AM, Monday, March 17, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/?form=FUNELYZXFBW) or the Wounded Warrior Project (https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/default.aspx?tsid=10043&ovr_acv_id=5246).
