Robert A. Ganzaroli, a beloved creative and visionary in music and film, departed to be in the presence of the Lord on February 11, 2025. Born May 24, 1968, on Camp Lejeune in NC, and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Robert's life was a testament to creativity, passion, and the transformative power of the art of thought. He was 56 years old.
Robert's remarkable journey began after he graduated from F.D. Roosevelt High School in 1986 then later attended Queensborough Community College and in later years at Limestone University. He developed an early love for music as a keyboardist and street musician, contributing to the success of the iconic record "Baby Got Back," for which he received a Platinum award with Def America. His musical talent was an essential part of the production process for Sir Mix-A-Lot's hit song, and his legacy in the industry lives on as he will forever be a platinum sales recipient.
Robert's love for creativity continued to grow, leading him to pursue a diverse career. From 1983-1985 he worked in Far Rockaway as a Sea Cadet. In December 1989, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Over the years, Robert's career spanned various fields, including law enforcement and corrections. He worked construction/demolition at U.S. Navy CB DET 24 Reserve from 1993-1996 then served as a South Carolina Correctional Officer from 1995-1997, and later became a police officer at the SC Criminal Justice Academy from 1999-2003. He also worked as a deputy at the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office from 2002-2003.
Robert still continued his career in the entertainment and music industry throughout these years, and in 2003, he founded APR Entertainment Services, where he provided a place for artists to record and create. By 2011, he founded Ganza Production Company, which specialized in videography, cinematography, and film production.
In 2014, Robert began writing the script for the film Empathy, a project that would define his later years. Casting/filming began in 2018, and in 2023, the film was completed. Empathy premiered in 2024 on Tubi and CW, showcasing Robert's dedication to his craft, passion and love for storytelling.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robert was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, friend, and animal lover(Blue and Rocko). He leaves behind his son, Julian Ganzaroli (Meldrika Ganzaroli); his daughter, Jessica Ganzaroli (Trevon Greene) his step-son, Justin Duncan-Yorke; and his cherished grandchildren, Ta'hiry Greene, Gianna Ganzaroli, Ta'Keria Greene, and Tre'mir Greene. His surviving siblings include Lisa M. Ganzaroli, Madelinea Ganzaroli, Charlinea Ganzaroli, and Bobby Summerz. Surviving is Robert's step-mother Pamela Ganzaroli. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert D. Ganzaroli and Sharon Ganzaroli.
Robert's contributions to music and film, as well as his loving spirit and thought provoking creativity, will be forever remembered by family, friends, and loved ones.
