Mr. Robert "Bob" Geppert of Nashville, IL departed this life at the Washington County Hospital in Nashville, IL on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 6:05 P.M. He had attained the age of 73 years, 7 months and 24 days.
Mr. Geppert was born on December 18, 1950, in Centralia, IL the son of Ignatious and Wanda (Barczewski) Geppert. He was united in marriage to Judith Campbell on January 8, 1972, and she preceded him in death on June 18, 1993. He later married Marlene Wiegmann on September 5, 1998, and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2008.
Bob proudly served with the United States Army. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 27½ years until his retirement and was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL. Bob's favorite pass time was playing the slot machines and going to the gambling boat.
Left to mourn his passing are his 2 sons, Jason Geppert and wife Angie of Troy, IL and Logan Geppert of Edwardsville, IL; stepdaughter, Nicol Rincker and husband Micah of Ashley, IL; 2 step-grandchildren, Reed and Huntley Rincker; 6 siblings, Maxine Henry of St. Genevieve, MO, Sister Marlene Geppert, OSF of St. Louis, MO, Pat Miller of New Athens, IL, Eugene Geppert of Nashville, IL and Howard Geppert of Nashville, IL and Hazel (Scott) Biggs of Coulterville, IL; sister-in-law, Hattie Geppert of Oakdale; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Judy Geppert; second wife, Marlene Geppert; 3 sisters, Aileene (Gilbert) Greten, Shirley (Fin) Finanger and Georgia (Leslie) Fields; 2 brothers, Germaine (Gail) Geppert and Stanley Geppert; and brother-in-law, Bob Henry.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 10 A.M. with Fr. Benny George officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in the St. Ann Old Cemetery in Nashville, IL. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 110.
There will be no public visitation.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made to the St. Ann Cemetery or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
