Robert 'Bobby" Gorman passed away on April 24, 2024 peacefully at his home in Naples, Florida. He was born on May 4, 1957 in Louisville, KY, to the parents of Robert Gorman, Sr. and Jean Gorman. He grew up in Avon, CT, graduating from Avon High School in 1975.
Bobby pursued his passion for both athletics and academics at Villanova University, excelling as a starting pitcher for the Varsity Baseball team and demonstrating leadership as a member of the ROTC program. He proudly graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, a testament to his dedication and perseverance.
Following his graduation, Bobby honorably served as an officer in the United States Navy for five years, embodying the principles of service and commitment. Transitioning to civilian life, he embarked on a successful career as a Civil Engineer, making significant contributions to various companies, including Federated Department Stores.
Upon retirement in 2016, Bobby moved to Naples, Florida where he has lived ever since. He touched people's lives with his intelligence, humor and contagious laugh.
Bobby is survived by his cherished sons, Bryan Gorman of Dallas, Texas, and Tommy Gorman of Honolulu, Hawaii, his devoted mother, Jean Ann Gorman of Bonita Springs, Florida, his brother John Gorman of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and his sister Laurie Piasio of Falmouth, Maine.
A family memorial service to celebrate Bobby's life will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 11:00am, at the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, offering an opportunity for loved ones to gather and honor his memory.

It's been exactly a year since my father's passing. Never a day goes by that I don't think about him. Thinking about him even more today being the 1 year death anniversary. The New York Mets, his and my favorite team, is currently the best team in baseball (18-7). Just wish he was alive to witness their success. But maybe he's the one up in heaven making it happen I love you so much Dad! 4/24/25

P.S. The last note I wrote last year was supposed to say "Loved" not "Lived". I think I had so many tears while writing that I didn't even notice the typo

I loved my father so much. Lived him more than he would ever know.
Never will a day go by where I don't think about him. We bonded so much with sports. I always loved watching a Giants or Mets game with him. He was a legend and my ultimate hero!!!
