Robert D. Hayes

Robert D. Hayes, age 75, of Gloversville, NY, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Nathan Littauer Hospital.
Born on December 10, 1948, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late Douglas and Jeannine (Van Allen) Hayes.
He is survived by the woman of his dreams and life partner, Mary Ann Wandel Baldwin; siblings, Douglas, Dave, Timothy, Tommy, Crystal, Cindy, Amy, and Sally, as well as by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and the extended Wandel, Town, Achzet, and Leitch families.
In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his siblings John, William, and Susan Hayes.
Bob was a 1968 graduate of Mayfield High School where he was an outstanding athlete in both basketball and track and field. Occupationally, Bob dedicated his career to the Liberty ARC, where his commitment to service shone brightly for many years. Robert was a proud founding member of the Peevo Golf League, where he shared his passion for social connection. His leisure was filled with simple pleasures. An avid golfer, he relished every moment spent on the fairway. His two beloved dogs, Charlie, and Casey were his treasured companions. Whether working outdoors, unraveling word search puzzles, or savoring meals out, Bob embraced life's joys with enthusiasm and an infectious smile.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
Memorial contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the St. Peter's Hospital ALS Regional Center, 19 Warehouse Row, Albany, NY, 12205, in memory of Bob Hayes.
