Robert G. Hayes, of Pearl River, New York, formerly of Blauvelt, passed away on October 23, 2024, at The Valley Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey. He was 78 years old.
Affectionately known as Bobby to family and friends, he spent 30 years as a Sales Manager at Allstate Insurance Company in Purchase, New York.
Born on October 28, 1945, in Tarrytown, New York, he was the son of James Hayes and Margaret McVinew. Bobby attended Tappan Zee High School and later graduated from Rockland Community College with an Associate's Degree in Business.
Mr. Hayes proudly served in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Bobby was most known for his enthusiastic spirit. He will be remembered for his love of travel, sense of humor, and the joy he found in bringing friends and family together. Bobby loved fishing, music, and playing poker or dice games with friends and family. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren, and he could often be heard sharing stories of their accomplishments.
He is survived by his two daughters, Eileen Hayes of Pearl River, New York and her spouse Lisa Raspanti, along with their two children Jack and Ben; and Annmarie Lentini of Pearl River, New York, along with her two children, Nicole Surace of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Kevin Surace of Pearl River, New York. Bobby is also survived by his brother, William Hayes of Blauvelt, New York, sister-in-law Valerie Hayes of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and James Hayes, and his brothers, James and Lawrence Hayes.
Calling hours will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Wyman Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River, New York. A funeral mass will take place at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Church of St. Margaret of Antioch in Pearl River. In lieu of flowers, donations to Rockland Homes for Heroes are appreciated.
