Robert Gene Hrunka

Robert Gene "Bobby" Hrunka, 65, of Toms River, NJ passed away unexpectedly on April 2nd 2025.
Bobby was born in Jersey City to John and Jean Hrunka on November 24th, 1959. He was a three sport varsity athlete at St. Mary's High School in Perth Amboy where he graduated in 1977. He worked as a landscaping specialist for the Garden State Parkway for 28 years before retiring and lending a hand with his beloved grandchildren. Bobby enjoyed spending time with family, riding his motorcycle, watching and discussing sports, and being out on the water. He was a loving partner, an outstanding father and PopPop, and an extraordinary friend. He was passionate about his faith in Christ. Bobby was a lover of all animals but especially all his "grandpups".
Bobby is survived by his wife, Gerda Cella of Toms River; brother John and his wife Edith; sisters Jean Concitis and Jo-Ann Hrunka; son Rob and daughter in law Kim Wood; daughter Candice Weiss and son in law Corey; son Casey and daughter in law Jill; stepdaughter Rose Zevitt and son in law Chris, and grandsons Shawn, William, Gene, and Calvin. He is also survived by former spouse Patricia Hawthorne, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Jean Hrunka and grandson John Robert.
Visitation will be held at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753 on Tuesday April 8th between 4pm and 8pm. Funeral service lead by Reverend Berteau will be held on Wednesday April 9th at 10am at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753.
