Mr. Robert Jesse “Jess” Gainey, age 27, entered into Eternal Life on Friday, July 12, 2024. A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00 PM Friday, July 26, 2024 from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Pastor Wes Keziah and uncles, Bro. Jerry Gainey and Rev. Randall Gainey. Following the service, Jess will be laid to rest next to his father in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be live-streamed on the Miller Rivers Caulder Funeral Home Facebook page.

Jess was born August 5, 1996 in Cheraw, SC to the late Robert Gainey and Ginger Gainey Aubertine and Dale Aubertine. The young boy was always smiling and rambunctious, he and his brother David were always up to something and played hard. Jess loved to dig holes and ride in his Big Pa’s 18-wheeler and ride his horses. When Jess was old enough to play t-ball, he was all-in. Playing all through his high school years and was named the Rocky River Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Year in 2015. His brother Cory was his “mini-me.” Jess was always pushing him to do a little better at baseball and in life. Jess made lots of friends in his short time here. Jess was “one-of-a-kind” and liked to do it his way. Our family takes comfort in the fact that Jess was saved by the Grace of God on May 26, 2022 and was baptized, publicly confessing his faith!

In addition to his father, Jess was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James “Mick” Gaskins, Ellen Hart, and step-grandfather, Phillip Hart, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Earl Gainey and Priscilla Gainey.

Those left to cherish his beautiful memory include his parents, Ginger Gainey Aubertine and husband, Dale of Monroe, NC; brothers, David Wayne Nolan of Chesterfield, SC, and Cory Patrick Aubertine of Monroe, NC; aunts and uncles, Amy & Bill Sellers, Rev. Randall & Becky Gainey both of Cheraw, SC, Josephine & Dean Curtis, Jerry & Dena Gainey both of Chesterfield, SC, Teresa & Greg Biedma of Albemarle, NC, Tonya & Jarrod Holler, and Phillip & Samantha Hart both of Rock Hill, SC; nieces and nephews, Colt, Havanna, Hope, and Dixie Nolan; in addition to numerous cousins and extended family and friends.
