Robert "Brian" Jobe completed the final chapter of his courageous fight against colon cancer on Saturday, July 26th, 2025 with his loving wife, Cecily, by his side.

Born on January 20th, 1986 in Durham, North Carolina, Brian developed an early love of nature. The years of his childhood were filled with fishing, building forts, and riding bikes in the Waterford neighborhood with his best friends. Brian was happiest when near any body of water with time spent on family vacations in both the mountains and beaches– riding jet skis, crabbing, digging holes, and body surfing in the waves.

After graduating from Riverside High School, he attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he made some incredible life-long friends and lasting memories. Brian also helped to co-found the UNCG club lacrosse team, where he starred as both a player and loyal teammate.

In May of 2010, Brian had the most significant beach trip of his life at Ocean Isle Beach. It's where he and Cecily started their 15-and-a-half-year relationship. Brian and Cecily were married on New Years Eve in 2017 and hosted one of the best parties Durham has ever seen. The years of their marriage were spent both traveling the world and content in their home together with the sweet moments of the everyday– cooking, gardening, and cuddling with the cats.

Brian will be remembered for his magnetic personality and a quick sense of humor. He never met a stranger and spent even his final days trying to make everyone laugh. Brian had great talents in fixing things and was so handy. Brian was able to utilize these talents as a commercial property manager at SVN Real Estate Associates. He left behind a list of ideas for inventions he still wanted to create.

Brian is survived by his wife, Cecily, his parents Bob and Linda Jobe, sister Joanna, brother-in-law Paul and his beloved nephew and niece Thomas and Charlotte. The family extends gratitude to the incredible teams at UNC Hillsborough who saw Brian through his cancer journey and his hospice care in his final days.

There will be a visitation on Friday, August 1st from 5-7pm at Clements Funeral Home in Durham, NC. The service will be Saturday, August 2nd at 11am at Trinity Avenue Presbyterian Church in Durham. The service can be viewed live at https://www.youtube.com/live/MLm5TW8OmZk
