Robert C. "Shrimpa" Kierzek

Robert C. "Shrimpa" Kierzek, age 89, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Erie, on April 30, 1933, a son of the late Thaddeus and Anna Doleski Kierzek.
Shrimpa graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1952 and went on to serve in the United States Army. He attended Erie Business Center and worked as a press operator at Kaiser Aluminum for 30 years, retiring in 1998. Shrimpa enjoyed taking daily walks, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Zamieroski; and his brother, Ted Kierzek.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Shirley Willett Kierzek; his three children, Robert M. Kierzek, of Florida, Kim Kierzek (Robert Nulph), of Erie, and Scott M. Kierzek (Amanda), of Erie; his five grandchildren, Staci Hawkins, Gary Roth, Julia Roth, Josh Kierzek (Jamie), and Karlie Kierzek; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces and a nephew.
The Family would like to thank Interim Hospice of Erie, especially Kat, Eddie, & Nicole for taking such good care of Robert.
Funeral services are private. Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd.
Memorial contributions can be made to Interim Healthcare Hospice or Shriners Hospital of Erie in memory of Robert.
