Robert (Bob) Lashbrook of Anderson, Indiana, born June 16, 1934, sadly left us on June 30, 2024. He leaves behind a sister, Joan Lashbrook Russell; son, Alan Lashbrook; daughter, Andrea Lashbrook Horan; granddaughters, Laila and Noelle Horan; sister-in-law, Susie Hollingsworth Joyce; multiple nieces and nephews; and many, many devoted friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hollingsworth Lashbrook, parents Howard and Helen (Bays) Lashbrook, brothers, Lane, Stan (Leon), and Luke, and a half-sister, Thomma.
Bob retired from Delco Remy Division, GMC, after 30 years. He soon found a second career in teaching at Ivy Tech. Throughout his life, Bob volunteered as a photographer for the Middletown Volunteer Fire Department, an Assistant Scout Master to Boy Scout Troup # 279, a Coach and Technical Advisor to Team Roboto #447, and for the Madison County Literacy Coalition at the Book Nook in Anderson.
He was a wonderful man, a great father and grandfather, and a constant friend and mentor to many.
A private service will be held at the gravesite in Grove Lawn Cemetery in Pendleton on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10 a.m.
In loving memory of Bob, we invite contributions to the Madison County Literacy Coalition, a 501(c)(3) organization (mclcindiana.org), in lieu of flowers.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Meadowbrook Pizza in Anderson, Indiana. Please come share memories of Bob and Shirley and raise a glass to Bob at his favorite bar for over 50 years!

Bob was married to my good friend Shirley, He worked at the book store when the Mall was in business. He was a gentleman, friendly, and we had good conversations. A really a good man. Shirley and I were AHS 1953 classmates and we kept in touch through the years, always at school reunions with them.
I miss them
