Robert J. Manno Sr., age 87, of Johnstown, and a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown, NY, with his beloved family by his side.
Born on May 3, 1937, in Johnstown, NY, he was the son of the late Paul and Helen (Hladik) Manno.
A graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1955, Robert went on to establish a successful career as an interior decorator, launching his own business, Bob Manno Decorators. Yet, despite his professional accomplishments, he was most proud of the home and family he built with his wife, Sharon Manno.
Robert was a member of St. Anthony's Church, living his Catholic beliefs. He was also an avid sports fan, with a particular passion for the New York Yankees. However, his athletic interests didn't stop at fandom; he was an enthusiastic participant too, enjoying both basketball and baseball in his youth-once famously bunting off the legendary Satchel Paige.
One of Robert's greatest joys was coaching baseball to his children and to countless others in his community. From Little League through Babe Ruth and American Legion, he shared his love of the game and the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Michael, Scott, Robert (Pilar), and Michele (Michael); grandchildren, Jessica Brown (Joshua), Camden and Macie Manno; and great-grandchild, Reece Brown; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his brother, Paul Manno.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday April 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown, NY.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
Interment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Johnstown, NY, at a later date.
Memorial donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.

Bob was a genuinely nice person, we knew him from his helping Sharon with her booth at Little Falls Antique Center.
My deepest condolences to Sharon and the entire family.
