Robert Lewis Mattocks, Sr., 91, of Big Beaver Borough, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, at Heritage Valley hospital, Beaver, Pennsylvania. He was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania on December 18, 1931, a son of Vance Edward and Lena Blanche (Smith) Mattocks.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Jean (Ketcham), their four children Robert Lewis, Jr (Queennette), Bonnie Lou (Joseph) Gruber, Brenda Sue Miller, Brian Gregory (Melanie), 11 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren, 3 Great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, Helen Pisano, Mary Andromalos, and Hazel Phelps, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandsons, Travis Gregory Mattocks and Robert Lewis Mattocks III, brothers, Clarence "Bud" Mattocks, Edward Mattocks, and Gerald Mattocks and sisters, Blanche Resinger, and Betty Sires.

Robert worked on his father's dairy farm for several years, in Guys Mills, Pennsylvania, before entering military service. He served honorably in the US Army, as a Field Clerk, for three years. He enjoyed his career as an owner/operator in the trucking industry for over 40 years. In his later years, he worked in appliance repair with long-time friend Ron Price. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Over the years, he and Barbara enjoyed traveling the United States, camping with their family, gardening, and many woodworking projects. Never one to sit idle, even into his later years, Bob was always busy tinkering on a project.
