Robert Mark McCarrick, Jr., age 73, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024 after a seven-year battle with health complications from stroke. He was born and raised in New Jersey, spent most of his adult life on the West Coast of sunny Florida, and later devoted most of his retirement to his grandchildren in Delaware.
He was a devout and repentant Christian, proud father, doting grandpop, hilarious "Uncle Rob," talented drummer, and skilled brick mason. He was a lover of sunshine, music, culture, style, knowledge, and family. With his blessed, talented, and strong hands-he created music; built churches, schools, and homes; supported his family; and prayed daily. He will be remembered for his generosity, humor, laughter, many talents, faith, and contributions to church, state, and community.
He is survived by his beloved granddaughters, Addison and Ainsley; his children Jamie Clarke of Delaware, Dr. Jessica McCarrick of Delaware, and Jason Jessup of Virginia, whom he shared with his ex-wife Patricia Tatick Beauchamp; his siblings Elaine Rhoades, Susan Page, William "Bill" McCarrick, Gary McCarrick, and Elizabeth "Betty" Silvestri; and a host of dearly loved nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert M. McCarrick, Sr. and Marie Dolores Colavito McCarrick.
Dad, we know that you are singing and drumming in heaven, hugging Granny and Pops, surrounded by all the dogs that you have ever loved. You were the best dad any kid could imagine. We miss your dad jokes, drumming on the car dashboard with your fingers and cheering us on no matter what we pursued.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to your favorite charity in his honor. A celebration of life is planned to take place in Florida, date forthcoming. Please contact the family at [email protected] for more information.

We grew up together He and my brother Bill locked a repair man in the crawl space in our house.
Rob and I fought over school lunch he did not want peanut butter & jelly Again.
Rob was always one to question and things had to proven to him.
He was meticulous in all his work.
Rob and I shared things we learned from our studies of Scripture.
Loved hearing Rob play his music. He was an awesome drummer and the few times i heard he and my Brother Bill play together it was something to enjoy. Bill can make his guitar deliver beautiful melodies. Music Rob loved music. I remember one time when we were kids and walking on the boardwalk Rob decided to take off, and left us all panic stricken, when all of a sudden a policeman came walking toward us hand in hand with Rob. Scared us to death. One of Rob´s favorite sayings was "ya know what i mean". I will see him someday in Heaven. Love you Rob

Rob and I were very close , So close in fact, we were only 11 months apart. I used to tease him all the time that we were Irish twins! And he used to laugh and say yes, we are. He was a very special brother to me and we spent a lot of time together over many years. I will miss him terribly. I love you to the moon and back! You´re loving sister, Sue
