Robert Henry McCorry, of Wayne, NJ, passed away on October 19, 2024. He was born on February 2, 1947, in Paterson, NJ, to Ruth and Henry "Mac" McCorry.
Robert was a man of great pride, dedication, and love for his family. He worked for many years in government service as a U.S. Treasury Special Agent Supervisor, where his hard work and commitment earned him the respect of his colleagues and community. After retiring, he continued his professional journey by doing consulting work for the FBI, further extending his legacy of service and expertise.
Robert married the love of his life, Nancy McCorry, and they shared 54 wonderful years together. Their wedding song, "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You", perfectly captured their deep and unwavering love. Even in his final moments, Robert never took his eyes off Nancy - a testament to the lifelong devotion they shared.
He had a deep love for his family and cherished watching his children and grandchildren play sports, never wanting to miss a game. Whether on the sidelines cheering or at home asking for updates, Robert's dedication to supporting his family was unwavering.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, and their children: Robert McCorry, Elizabeth Wanagiel and her husband, Dave, Colleen Hammann and her husband, Douglas, and Ellen Mistrette and her husband, Phil; his sister Arlene Platt; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Emma, and Austin Wanagiel; Tucker, Alister, and Brayden Hammann; and Matthew, Madison, and Lucas Mistrette, whom he lovingly referred to as his "little people," were the light of his life. His love for his family will continue to guide and inspire them.
He was cherished by many friends and extended family members who will remember him for his kind heart, strong character, sense of humor and unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A mass to honor Robert's life will be held on October 24th at 10am at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Cancer Research Institute (CRI) www.cancerresearch.org.

Bob McCorry and I were first cousins (my father and his mother were brother & sister), we saw lots of each other in our youths at extended family gatherings of the Rainey Family, in more recent years we sometimes took the same NJ transit train to Hoboken (I would go on to NY where I taught at NYU and he would go on to Jersey City where he had a long-term FBI investigation). I always admired his friendly manner and charm, Nancy and her children have my deepest sympathy, Ron Rainey, October 23, 2024

I´m so sorry to hear that we lost Bob. He was my manager for many years in Paterson. A man of the highest integrity. I also worked with Bob on several Anti Money Laundering projects after we both retired. Rest in peace Bob
