Obituary
Robert J. Meyer, 58, Algoma, passed away in the comfort of his home with his family at his side, Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Bob was born November 21, 1964, in Algoma to John and Rosie (Bultman) Meyer.
Bob graduated from Algoma High School in 1983. He entered in the US Army in September of 1983 and was an 82nd Airborne Paratrooper. He worked as a diesel mechanic during his army career. He was honorable discharged in September of 1985.
Bob married the love of his life Angela Michaletz on September 21, 1991.
Bob eventually followed in his Uncle Dave Meyer, grandfather Arnold Meyer and great grandfather Julius Meyer's footsteps and became an HVAC technician.
Bob worked for Weigand Oil, Temp-Rite and Wulf Brothers. He was last employed at Baumann Plumbing and Heating until his illness.
Bob had a heart like his mother Rosie. Always outgoing and kind. He was a hard worker and helped out anyone he could. Bob took pride and honor in his service and was a true patriot. He always marched to the beat of his own drum while being his true and honorable self.
Bob had a love for music and was a great singer. He was a member of the St. Mary youth choir, school chorus and musicals. Bob loved hanging out with family and friends and those were many.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Angela, two sons John and Dakota, his three beloved cats Chunky, Putz and Runt Boy (Pip); three sisters Mary Gregerson (Mike Lardinois), Dottie (Gary) Klaczko and Jan Meyer (Sheree); mother-in-law Virginia Michaletz; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Bridget (Ben) Kinjerski, Denise (Chris) Nash, Doug (Tammy) Michaletz, Jen (Frank) Berger and Debbie Meyer; two Godsons Richie Meyer and Brandon Grovogel; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Rosie, brother Mike, and father-in-law Dean Michaletz.
Family and friends may gather at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, on Sunday, May 14, 2023, from 1:00 PM until the time of Celebration at 6:00 PM. There will be military honors after the celebration at the funeral home.
Angela would like to thank the Bellin Cancer team and Dr. Torres, Froedtert Hospital and Dr. Hamadani for trying to help Bob beat his disease. Also, Unity Hospice, Pastor Ken Taylor for coming to the house to give Bob his final blessing and Laurie Schinderle for the love, care and support of Bob and his family.
