Bob Mottice hired me as a teacher. Fortunately for the students, Bob returned to the classroom. He and and I then worked as team members with Bob teaching history, his late wife Marlene teaching math, and Don Keller science. I rounded out the team teaching English. Some of us who worked under Bob when he was principal and with Bob as fellow teachers still refer to that time as our "golden days" of teaching, and Bob was instrumental in making those years so successful. All of the adjectives to described Bob´s character have been repeated by almost everyone who admired him, adjectives like caring, honest, empathetic, and loyal. Like many others on our staff Bob became a good friend. He and Marlene and my wife Patti and I enjoyed many evenings sharing dinner. Bob and I would meet for coffee and shared our experiences of going through divorce and finding another relationship. In my long career in education there were two men whose respect I valued the most: Gerry Reeves and Bob Mottice. Bob, one if a kind.
