Robert B. Niblock

Obituary
Robert Niblock, of Ithaca, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
Born in 1930, Robert was the son of Marie and John Niblock.
A 1948 Ithaca High School graduate, he was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran from 1948-50. Following military service, he then became a lineman for N.Y. Telephone. He would occupy the positions of lineman, repairman and salesman for 36 years, retiring in 1984. He did not sit idly, soon starting Niblock Communications Installation. He would - finally - officially retire from the work world at 80 years of age. A member of the Knights of Columbus, Telephone Pioneers of America, and American Legion Post 221, he spent his free time boating, gardening, coaching Kiwanis Baseball, and maintaining the house he built in 1976.
Robert is predeceased by his mother and father; wife of 58 years, June; brother John; and sisters Helen Hisey and Arlene Robbins. He is survived by his daughter, Marchell (James) Sperger, of Ithaca; son, Brian, of Ithaca; and furry companion Sparky.
There will be no services. Donations can be made to the Tompkins County SPCA or Hospicare & Palliative
Care Services, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca.
