Robert Mitchell Parker, Sr.

Mr. Robert Mitchell Parker, Sr. age 65 passed away June 12 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Skipper will officiate. Burial will be in the McBee Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mitchell was born in Hartsville a son of the late Jessie Lee Parker and Johnnie Lou Johnson Parker. He was a member of North Hartsville Baptist Church. He retired from Galley and Lord Textile after 35 years of service. Mitchell loved to race Motorcycles, play Soft Ball, coached Base Ball at the Hartsville Northern League and Umpired at the McBee Recreation Department. He loved reading his Bible and loved fishing and the Gamecocks.

Surviving is his wife, Janice Smith Parker, Hartsville; one daughter, Katherine (Lee) Morrison, McBee; one son, Robert Mitchell (Kayli) Parker, Jr. Darlington; one step-son, Devin (Murphy Monk) Matthews, Hartsville; one sister, Tena (Charles) Boykin, Hartsville; two sister in laws, Jenise Smith and Judy (Jimmy) Byrd, Hartsville; five grandchildren, Anniston Parker, Jackson Parker, Ace Morrison, Crosland Morrison and Katelyn Morrison.
