Robert Bruce Peck, 85, of Carmel, IN passed away June 8, 2024. He was born July 16,1938 in Lansing, MI, son of William Clark and Mary Elizabeth (Leadley) Peck.
Bob received his bachelor's degree from Michigan State University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He then earned his master's degree in finance from the University of Detroit and completed the graduate school of banking program from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Bob was originally employed as a Commercial Loan Officer with Indiana National Bank and retired from Bank One in 2001. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve from 1960-1964.
Bob was a member of the Woodland Country Club where he loved playing golf. In his winter retirement months, he looked forward to living on a golf course in Naples, FL where he could continue to chase that "little white ball". Bob was also a member of the East 91st Street Christian Foundation, where he served and was an advisor for several years.
In a crowded room of people, Bob's infectious laugh could be heard even when he was not seen. He would laugh his way through his hysterical storytelling making it memorable even if the details were not. He possessed a very dry and "quirky" sense of humor and took great joy in teasing his children and grandchildren through the years.
Bob truly enjoyed traveling. The research and countless hours of planning vacations were part of the joy of the trips. Alaska (known as God's country) was Bob's favorite place to visit. The first trip was on a small 50 passenger cruise, the next was by gravel car.
As a student of God's word, Bob loved studying scripture which allowed his faith to deepen. He worked with the Navigators and Evangelism Explosion for many years sharing his love for Jesus. While wintering in Naples, Bob continued his involvement in evangelism outreach with his church. Bob had a passion for helping people by using his God given gift in financial expertise. He spent countless hours with SCORE mentoring new entrepreneurs and advising Pastor John on financial matters as a part of his ministry at Shepherd Community Center.
Although we are deeply saddened, we celebrate as we know he is finally whole and walking with Jesus. Bob has left a legacy by the life he lived, the lives he touched, and the faith he shared!
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Nancy Peck; children, Judi (Warren) Dalton, Holli (Kevin) Wilson, and Heidi (Brad) Boyer; grandchildren, Jason (Elissa) Dalton, Cameron and Blake Wilson, Rachel, Mackenzie, and Caleb Boyer; great-grandson, Gage Freeman; sister, Barbara (Don) Harmer, and 3 nieces.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Legacy Bible Church, of which Bob was a member, Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 2 pm with visitation beginning 1 pm till service time.
In memory of Bob, contributions may be given to Legacy Bible Church Building Fund, 13490 Howe Road, Fishers, IN 46038.

Bob was a rare gift to many of us, his banking legacy. I think I held the record for being able to make Bob twist up his face, laboring to be patient with my lack of "getting" it with credit. So patient!! I kept his list of questions tucked safely in my desk for decades until they became part of my DNA. Such a generous man with me. I´ll carry his memory with me.
