Robert L. Powers

Robert "Bob" Lawrence Powers born November 18th, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 29th in Havana, Illinois surrounded by his family.
Bob will be immeasurably missed by his four children; sons Robert E. (Tracey) Powers and Christopher Powers, and his daughters Erin (Colton) Boggs and Katelyn (Trey Bergman) Powers and 4 grandchildren Robert T. Powers, Raegan Powers, Evelyn Boggs and Holden Bergman.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life; his wife Bonnie Powers, his mother and father Laura and Edward Powers and numerous beloved family and friends.
Bob was raised with his four siblings as a practicing Catholic graduating from Toledo Central Catholic and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Upon honorably discharging, he met and married his Bonnie in Toledo, Ohio. They relocated to Illinois in 1979 to raise their family where he found his niche in sales at National Standard, Walker/McLean Forge, Sulberg USA, and FPS Inc. Bob worked and excelled in numerous fields and took pride in everything he did, but most importantly to him was what he could do for others. Bob loved to mow, golf, sell and talk sickle guards, listen to music or talk radio while driving his Shelby, watch a good ball game, and above all else, spend time with his family and friends.
Bob was the epitome of a father, business man, and friend. Upon the passing of his wife, he raised two young daughters by himself with grace and purpose; which in itself is a feat. He coached his daughters softball games after traveling the world for his business, he cooked dinner and talked highs and lows after a long day of meetings, he made sure all who were important to him felt it and truly wanted the best for everyone he encountered.
The family requests a private visitation with open graveside services to take place on Wednesday, April 3rd at Laurel Hill Cemetery at 2:00.
