Robert Raniere

Robert Anthony Raniere (Uncle Bob), 87 of Schaumburg, IL, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Alexian Brothers Hospital. He was born in Chicago in 1937. Beloved son of Samuel and Violet Raniere (nee Di Julio). Beloved father of Christopher Robert. Devoted husband to his loving wife Diane (nee Gotz) for 64 years. He attended Resurrection elementary, Austin H.S., DePaul University. Received a B.S. degree in business management and honored to become a member of the Blue Key chapter at Loyola University, and a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. Robert enlisted in the Army Reserves at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Resident of Schaumburg township for 60 years and served as his homeowner's association president for 25 years in Schaumburg. He owned Petersen's Ice Cream Company in Oak Park, IL for 36 years. Robert loved people and enjoyed reading, particularly history, humor, watching movies, playing piano, swimming, golf, world travel and visiting with family and friends. Also, enjoyed a summer home in lower MI. Robert was preceded in death by his father Samuel, mother Violet, and brother John, Ronald and Palmer, and is survived by his sister Patricia McGovern.
