ROBERT M. REAGAN, age 100, of Campbell, NY entered peacefully into rest on March 11, 2025, surrounded by family at home, sharing his wit and infamous one-liners through his final days.
Bob was born on September 3rd, 1924 - the ninth of sixteen children born to Francis M. and Elizabeth A. Dick Reagan. After the family moved to Rathbone, NY he was the first child born on what is now known as the "Reagan Farm". He married Janet Robinson on October 15th, 1955 in Rochester, NY, and they celebrated 69 unforgettable years together in 2024. Beginning in 1958, with the help of the Reagan brothers, their dream home was built in Campbell, NY.
Upon graduating from Canisteo High School, Bob entered the U.S. Coast Guard and served as a Merchant Marine during World War II. He was employed at Ingersoll-Rand where he held several positions, the last of which was Product Cost Manager. He also served a term as President of the Service Association. During his time at Ingersoll-Rand he also owned and operated a Tastee-Freez in Riverside, NY. His last position was working as an accountant at the Steuben County Treasurer's office. In his retirement, he was elected and served as a Steuben County Legislator from 1990 to 1993.
Bob was an avid golfer and member of the Bath Country Club for many years. His most memorable moments on the golf course were winning first place in the 2002 Member-Guest tournament with his son-in-law and shooting a Hole-in-One at age 72 while playing with his son! He was also a lifelong member of the Elks Club.
Bob loved music and started his "career" by first performing on standup bass with the Reagan family square dance band--"The Reagan Boys". He also played in several Southern Tier bands including the Woodhull's Old Tyme Masters square dance band, recording an album in New York City.
Bob's favorite pastimes included playing competition horseshoes on the Reagan brothers' team, driving his convertibles, playing euchre with friends – and lest we forget, being a truly dedicated YANKEE fan!
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet and four children: Kathleen (Kenneth) Lanphear of Chittenango, NY, Patricia (Christopher) Jones of Corning, NY, Michael (Jeanne) Reagan of Penn Yan, NY and Christine (Richard) Share of Macedon, NY; one brother Richard Reagan of Addison, NY; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by brothers: Thomas E., Francis M. Jr, Martin J., William A., James P., John F., Bernard P., Rev. Michael L., and David J., and sisters: Mary E. Allen, Elizabeth M. Reagan, Theresa M. Reagan, Catherine A. Reagan (Sister Scholastica), and Rita M. McCaig.
The family will welcome relatives and friends to Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall Street, Addison, NY on March 23rd from 2-4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catherine's Church, Maple St. Addison, NY on March 24th at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery with full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's name may be made to: St. Catherine of Siena Church, 51 Maple St. Addison, NY 14801, or to CareFirst, 3805 Meads Creek Rd., Painted Post, NY 14870.
