Memorial Services for Robert Lawrence Semple, Jr., will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Boyce, 310 Londonderry Avenue, Boyce, Louisiana and under the direction of Gallagher Funeral Home and Crematory in Ball, Louisiana.
Robert Lawrence Semple, Jr., age 89, a resident of Alexandria, Louisiana, entered eternity on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Regency House of Alexandria, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Hayzel Carmouche; stepdaughter, Kim Laird; parents, Robert Lawrence Semple, Sr., and Lena Neal Semple; and brother, Tommy Semple.
He is survived by his wife, Theda Snyder Semple; his sons, Robert L. Semple, III (Lynn), Danny S. Semple (Monica), Darrel Semple (Jennifer); and his stepdaughter, Gerelyn Anthony (Randy); his12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; his sister, Frances Brinson (David); his numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
A proud US Air Force Veteran, Robert was a machinist by trade, and owner operator of Semple Machine Shop for 50 years. He was a pilot who flew his own airplane and even built his own acrobatic aircraft one rivet at a time. He was a man of many talents and interests, including being an avid golfer, and motorcyclist. He also loved traveling, and camping. Robert also enjoyed kayaking and was a member of Cenla Hikers and Kayaking Group. A quiet man of faith, Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church of Boyce. Above all, his passion was spending quality time with his family.
Robert was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great and great great grandfather, brother, and friend and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
