Robert Dale Smith, 73, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Villaspring Care Center in Erlanger.
Born on September 1, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, to Robert Smith and the late Donna VanAtta Smith, Robert dedicated much of his career to the auto industry. A lifelong enthusiast, he was an avid NASCAR fan and a passionate supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Dale shared over 40 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lynn M. Price Smith. He is survived by his stepmother Maija Smith, stepdaughters, Angela Pasquet (and her children Grace and Brady) and Michelle Gibbs (Joseph) (and their children Mitchell, Emma, and Kate); his brother Randall Smith; and his sisters Jill Church (and her children Bobby and Chloe) and Lynette Smith. He was preceded in death by sisters DeAnn (Simone) Karkie and Sherri (Michael) Alicie.
A private memorial service will be held later to honor Dale's life and legacy.
